What are lip fillers made of?
Lip fillers are naturally found in the body and are made of hyaluronic acid (HA) in the form of injectable smoothing gels. After some time, the gels will gradually break down.
Temporary vs permanent lip augmentation?
At The Lime Tree Clinic, we only use temporary lip fillers as they give better results, are safer and can be improved over time to create the type of lip you desire, whether it be a natural look or a pair of perky model lips.
Permanent lip fillers are less desirable in the modern era as they can create undesirable long-term results which can be difficult to correct.
How do lip fillers work?
When injected to the lips, the lip fillers work as a volumiser to add definition, creating a fuller and more defined appearance. They not only add volume to the lips but also provide deep hydration and smooths the lips, resulting in healthier, more supple looking lips.
When you visit The Lime Tree Clinic for a lip augmentation procedure, you will have a free, no-obligation consultation with our highly trained cosmetic injectors to listen to your input and feedback, ensuring your lips are artistically shaped to your desired results.
Are lip fillers safe?
Lip fillers are safe if injected correctly by a trained medical professional. At The Lime Tree Clinic, all lip filler procedures are performed by a qualified cosmetic injector with years of injecting experience, ensuring the best possible results are delivered to you with minimal side effects and little to no downtime. Only genuine Australian approved lip fillers are used.
Injection of lip fillers which are not approved by Therapeutic Good Administration, not genuine, or injected by untrained or unexperienced practitioners can be dangerous and can cause complications such as blockage of blood vessels.
Note: The Lime Tree Clinic offers a free assessment consultation with one of our qualified cosmetic injectors to discuss any potential concerns you may have.
What can lip fillers do?
Lip fillers are commonly used to address cosmetic concerns of your lips such as:
- to even out any irregularities to restore lips symmetry
- to restore dehydrated and wrinkled lips by increasing the water content of the lips
- to enhance the shape of the lips to create a more pronounced pout and Cupid’s bow (model lips)
- to add definition to genetically thin lips to create a fuller and more defined lips
- to remove smoker lines (vertical lip lines)
- to lift the corner of the mouths to create a more youthful appearance
What is the procedure for lip filler treatment?
Lip fillers are a relatively straight-forward procedure. The procedure usually takes about 30 to 45 minutes. Our cosmetic injector will first clean your lips and surrounding areas. A numbing cream is generously applied to reduce any discomfort during the procedure.
Once the lips are numbed, the lip filler is injected delicately into the different parts of the lips and massaged gently to smooth out the fillers, until the desired results are achieved. After the procedure, an antiseptic cream is applied.
Lip augmentation aftercare
Immediately after the treatment, you may experience mild swelling, tenderness, and redness but these side effects usually resolve within the first 1-2 days. Please avoid excessive heat, exercise, alcohol and smoking. The treated area should be kept clean.
After the procedure, you are allowed to perform light kissing only, such as a peck on the cheek or a slight puckering of the lips. It is advisable to wait at least 1 to 2 days before performing heavier or intimate kissing, as the fillers need time to settle and integrate with your lip tissue.
When can I see the treatment results and how long will it last for?
You will see immediate results following a lip filler treatment. However, it has to be noted that the final result will appear only after the initial swelling has gone down. Lip fillers generally last about 6 to 12 months, depending on your body metabolism and the product used. To maintain optimum results, you will need to repeat the treatment at 6 to 12-month intervals.
At The Lime Tree Clinic, we only use European premium lip fillers and the results experienced by our own patients last as long as 12 months.
What is the cost of lip filler treatments?
Our premium lip fillers are $420 per mL. 1mL of filler should be adequate for the majority of lips.
