How Does MiniFX Face Contouring Work?

MiniFX by InMode is a non-invasive facial contouring treatment that combines radiofrequency (RF) energy with controlled suction and tissue heating.

The technology is designed to target small areas of localised fat while supporting improvements in the appearance of skin firmness.

1. Radiofrequency Energy – Targeted Tissue Heating

MiniFX delivers radiofrequency energy into the treated tissue, creating a controlled heating effect. This energy is designed to heat the subcutaneous fat layer, which is the layer of fat located directly beneath the skin. Sufficient thermal exposure may trigger changes in targeted fat cells, contributing to a gradual reduction in localised fat thickness. The amount of improvement depends on the individual’s anatomy, treatment settings and response.

2. Controlled Suction – Targeting Smaller Areas

MiniFX uses suction to draw the targeted tissue into the applicator. This helps position the tissue for controlled energy delivery and allows the practitioner to treat smaller, more defined areas. The suction component may also contribute to temporary redness, swelling or bruising following treatment.

3. Temperature Monitoring – Controlled Energy Delivery

MiniFX incorporates temperature monitoring and controlled energy cut-off technology. These features help regulate the delivery of radiofrequency energy during treatment. However, temperature monitoring does not eliminate all risks associated with thermal treatments.

4. Gradual Facial Contouring

As the treated tissue responds to radiofrequency heating, some individuals may notice improvements in the appearance of lower facial contours. Changes associated with fat reduction develop gradually rather than immediately. MiniFX may also support some improvement in skin firmness, although significant skin tightening is not its primary purpose.

MiniFX InMode is a non-invasive treatment that delivers radio frequency to deep tissues in small areas of the face. The radio frequency energy heats the fat cells, causing them to break down.

For optimal results in skin tightening and contouring, MiniFX can be combined with InMode’s Forma treatment.

MiniFX treatment is generally very well tolerated. Clients may experience a warming sensation and have small amount of discomfort during the treatment.

Treatable areas with MiniFX are face, neck and chin.

You may notice an immediate tightening from 1 session of MiniFX, however best results are shown from 4-6 treatments, 1-2 weeks apart. Results can last for up to 6-12 months as long as you are doing maintenance treatments.

You may experience swelling, redness and “vacuum bruising” of the treated area. This normally settles down after a few days as long as you follow your aftercare instructions.
