Scarless Mole Removal
Moles, pigmentations and small lesions (lumps and bumps) are very common and can appear anywhere on your body. While most of these do not cause concern, when they appear in visible places such as our faces or limbs, they can be a cosmetic nuisance.
The good news is that mole, pigmentation and lesion removals are available at The Lime Tree Clinic. We offer safe and effective treatments to remove them with minimal or no scarring. Our highly trained cosmetic physician will be able to give you the best solution you are looking for.
What causes these lumps and bumps?
Moles, also medically known as naevi, are caused by a cluster of pigmented cells. Moles can be present as early as at birth, can continue to grow in numbers determined by genetic factors, and often stop growing after age 30. Therefore, any new moles that are formed after age 30 should be brought to the attention of a doctor.
Other lesions such as skin tags, fatty deposits and irregular skin can occur spontaneously or even from minor skin injury and these can be safely and effectively removed at The Lime Tree Clinic.
What are your treatment options for scarless mole removal?
No two moles are identical as they come in different shapes, colours, and texture, therefore, different types of treatments are available to produce the best possible cosmetic results. At The Lime Tree Clinic, we offer the following treatment options for mole removal:
Radiofrequency and curettage – We use the Surgical Pellevé’ device with a special electrode tip to deliver the radiofrequency energy to vaporise the lesion. As it generates minimal heat, the surrounding tissues are not affected, allowing the treated areas to heal effectively with little to no scarring.
Cryotherapy – This is a freezing technique that uses extreme cold temperate produced by liquid nitrogen to destroy the lesions.
Laser and intense light treatment – Our selection of devices at The Lime Tree Clinic can selectively target the pigment or lesion in the skin layer, resulting in a cosmetically pleasing result.
Excision – This is where the skin is anaesthetised, and the concerning lesion is cored or cut out in a method that reduces the size of the scar as much as possible.
We do not offer treatment for cancerous lesions. If your lesion looks suspicious, we will refer you to a specialist for assessment first, prior to scar less treatment at The Lime Tree Clinic.
Can we remove other skin lesions besides moles?
Yes, we have a range of treatment options for other types of skin lesions such as cherry angiomas, seborrheic keratosis, dermatosis papulose nigra, skin tags, lipomas, infected abscesses and seborrhoiec cysts.
All lesions will be assessed by our doctor to identify the type of skin lesion and the most suitable method to remove it as effectively and as scar free as possible.
Are scarless mole removal procedures safe?
These procedures are very safe procedures when performed by a qualified cosmetic practitioner.
At The Lime Tree Clinic you will be in the safest hands, whichever removal method is chosen by you and our cosmetic physician. During your initial consultation, our cosmetic physician will explain the pros and cons of each scar less removal method and explain any possible side effects and how to avoid them.
What is the procedure for scarless mole removal?
The procedure for all methods is relatively easy and painless. After assessing your lesions, they will be removed using the most suitable method depending on the nature, size and elevation of the lesion. Our cosmetic physician will cleanse the skin and may inject a small amount of local anaesthetic to numb the target areas. Lesions are removed with minimal injury to surrounding tissues to achieve the best cosmesis possible.
The procedure can take as little as 5 minutes and up to 60 minutes, depending on the number and size of the lesions to be removed.
Lesion removal aftercare
There is little aftercare required for any of the methods, and you can usually resume your normal activities immediately afterwards. You may notice some pinpoint bleeding from the cauterised area, but this is completely normal and can be stop by applying pressure while using bandages. Please follow the aftercare directions provided by the team to ensure minimalisation of scarring.
When can I see the treatment results and how long will it last?
The results are often immediate, however skin quality will often continue to improve for months and usually the lesions are removed permanently.
What is the cost of mole removal?
First lesion removed - $200
Subsequent lesions - $150
