Hyperhidrosis Treatment

Minimise Sweat, Maximise Comfort

Sweating plays a vital role in regulating body temperature. However, in some individuals, the sweat glands can become overactive, a condition known as Hyperhidrosis. This can lead to excessive perspiration that may interfere with daily routines, affect self-confidence, and impact quality of life.

At The Lime Tree Clinic, we offer a non-surgical option for managing localised excessive sweating. Following a thorough consultation, our qualified cosmetic doctor or nurse can recommend a suitable treatment approach for areas such as the underarms, hands, or feet.

If you are experiencing symptoms of Hyperhidrosis, we encourage you to book a consultation with our experienced team to explore suitable treatment options tailored to your individual needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Hyperhidrosis treatment work by temporarily blocking the chemical signals from the sympathetic nerves that stimulate the sweat glands. When the signals are stopped, so does the sweat. Our cosmetic doctor or nurse will access your medical history to rule out any underlying causes for your hyperhidrosis and determine your suitability for this treatment.

All cosmetic treatments carry some level of risk. At The Lime Tree Clinic, your safety is our top priority. Before any procedure, our experienced cosmetic doctor or nurse will carefully assess your suitability to ensure the treatment is appropriate for you.

To minimise risk, all procedures are performed with a gentle, precise approach by qualified professionals with extensive experience. This helps further reduce the chance of complications. However, as with any cosmetic procedure, there may be some mild and temporary side effects, including:

  • Excessive dryness
  • Insufficient results
  • Redness
  • Bruising
  • Soreness
  • Sensitivity
  • Muscle weakness

All potential risks, side effects, and aftercare will be thoroughly discussed with you during your consultation to ensure you are fully informed and comfortable before proceeding.

The most commonly treated areas are the underarms. It can also be administered to other areas such as the forehead, palms/hands, and feet.

The procedure usually takes about 20 minutes, and has minimal downtime. The procedure starts with a test to map the target areas followed by cleansing with anti-septic solution. The treatment is conducted by injection via fine needles into the specific target areas. You may experience a slight discomfort, like the sting of an ant for a few seconds. Numbing cream is applied before treatment to minimise any discomfort.

At The Lime Tree Clinic, we are committed to providing exceptional care every step of the way. To help you get the most from your treatment, we have created comprehensive pre- and post-treatment care instructions outlining how to prepare for your appointment and care for your skin afterwards.

Results are seen quickly and take a week to reach full potential. This treatment is not a permanent solution and may last for 6 to 12 months. For most individuals, we recommend top-up treatments every 6 to 8 months to continue the desired results.
